Hi, I'm Gemma, founder of Dacorum Women's Club.

I founded DWC in June 2025 because I wanted more connection and community in my own life, and I knew I couldn't be the only woman who felt that way.

My career has largely been in the food and drink industry, from buying to national account management and now business development. I work full-time for a charity that supports the global food and consumer goods industry through research, insight and collaboration, helping businesses navigate change and tackle challenges around feeding the nation and creating positive social impact.

Outside work, I'm fascinated by women's health and wellbeing, largely shaped by my own experiences. I've navigated health challenges, periods of significant stress, perimenopause and the complexities of hormones, alongside losing 27kg and discovering a real love for strength training, nutrition and longevity.

Those experiences have made me curious about the science behind how we feel, how our bodies change and what helps us thrive. I'm particularly passionate about helping women feel informed and empowered to take charge of their own wellbeing.

Hearing about the importance of social connection for our health on The Diary of a CEO was the final piece of the puzzle. Connection is part of our wellbeing too.

What began as a way to make friends has grown into a community of thousands, inspired the creation of Dacorum Wellness Club and opened conversations with organisations including the police, local council and government representatives.

I'm driven, endlessly curious and love bringing people together, but I'm also learning how to balance ambition with health, happiness and everything else life throws at us.

I run DWC myself alongside my full-time career, so please bear with me if I'm sometimes a little slow to reply!

My vision is simple: to help women connect, discover new interests, support one another and live healthier, happier, more fulfilling lives.

Because life is simply better when we're connected.
